Perio Restore trays are custom-made dental trays designed to aid in the treatment of gum disease, also known as periodontal disease.
Here's how they work and what they're used for:
1. Mechanism: The trays are designed to deliver medication (hydrogen peroxide) directly to the gums, targeting bacteria and other pathogens that cause periodontal disease. They hold the medication, which is a gel containing hydrogen peroxide, which helps to kill bacteria and reduce inflammation.
2. Treatment: Perio restore trays are used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for gum disease. They are typically used between dental visits to maintain the effects of professional cleanings and other treatments. Patients are instructed on how to use the trays at home, typically for two 10 minutes sessions per day.
3. Benefits: These trays offer several benefits, including targeted delivery of medication to the gums, reduced need for invasive procedures like scaling and root planing, or osseous surgery and improved overall oral health.
In our office we use the itero to scan for the trays.

What we need?--
PT will need full updated perio chart, including recession. PT will also need full iTero + iRecords scan with at minimum 4mm of gingiva scanned. We will send scan to Denmat . Typically we treat both arches, but in some circumstances, we can do a single when it's appropriate. The codes are charged out separately. The hygienist that is taking the scan is responsible for uploading the perio chart for the patient.

Timeline--
It takes roughly 10 days to get trays back from the lab. Once we get the trays in, front desk contacts the patients and gets them on the books for delivery.
Reminder--
If pt gets CR or bridges placed, the trays will no longer fit so they will need new ones, fillings typically do not interfere much with seal of the tray.
